iDiOM Theater’s 2017–18 Season Announced!

iDiOM Theater has been surprising and delighting local audiences for over fifteen years, and will continue to produce quality original work as one of several resident companies at Sylvia Center for the Arts!

Our 2017–18 Season will include:

  • AN ILIAD: Lisa Paterson and Denis O’Hare’s beautiful and tragic solo adaptation of the Greek classic, arrestingly performed by Glenn
    Hergenhahn-Zhao!
  • 3MB: A hurly-burly rendition of Shakespeare’s ‘Scottish play,’ with all
the treachery, war, and witches brought to life by just three actors!
  • 48-Hour Theater Festivals #48, #49 & #50: Dozens more new
short plays will be born during the latest installments of the perennially-popular weekend playwriting festival!
  • SERIAL KILLERS: An annual, audience-judged tournament of serial theater, playing out over five weekends!
  • COME WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO LIVE: A rare iDiOM reprise: Kim
Ross and Brendan LaBotz’s musical tribute to an 80’s sci-fi classic was too good not to re-stage (he did say he’d “be back”…)!
  • ANNIE BAKER Series — Following on from last year’s Edward Albee tribute series, we will present a series of staged readings, plus one full production, celebrating the unique voice of Pulitzer-winning playwright Annie Baker, directed by WWU’s Rich Brown!
  • THEATER IN THE PARK — A full series of outdoor performances in
Maritime Heritage Park, to be announced soon!
  • FIRST WEEKEND Series — In conjunction with the monthly Downtown Art Walk, an ongoing monthly series of storytelling, poetry, short play anthologies, and ‘instant theater’ festivals!
